Biteko picks the nomination form as General

GEITA: GENERAL Elections fever continues to hit regions, and this time it is Kulwa Biteko on the starting lane.

Biteko, a member of Tanzania’s ruling party, Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM), has officially collected a nomination form to vie for the Member of Parliament position in the newly established Katoro Constituency in Geita District.

This marks the first time Katoro Constituency will participate in a general election since its creation earlier this year. Biteko became the first party cadre to collect the nomination form, arriving at the CCM Geita District office at exactly 8:20 a.m.

Biteko’s move follows the official announcement by CCM on June 27, 2025, allowing aspirants to begin collecting nomination forms for various internal party positions ahead of the upcoming general election.

In the 2020 general election, Biteko had attempted to contest for the parliamentary seat of Busanda Constituency. He led in the party’s internal opinion polls with 665 votes but was ultimately not selected as the official CCM candidate.

Now, Biteko appears to be making a strong political comeback, focusing his efforts on the newly formed Katoro Constituency. He aims first to secure his party’s nomination and, ultimately, the support of the voters in this new electoral area.

Among the challenges he hopes to tackle are the lack of development opportunities for young people, limited economic empowerment, and inadequate support for disadvantaged residents. He believes that his technical background and hands-on experience make him uniquely positioned to find practical, sustainable solutions.

Ntagira’s vision goes beyond local development. He called on residents of Iyunga and Tanzanians at large to support a new kind of leadership: one that prioritizes innovation, inclusivity, and economic growth.

“I’m not just running for office. I’m running for a better future,” he said. “Together, we can shape a new chapter for Iyunga and play our part in advancing Tanzania’s development journey.”
