Geita Gold see fortune in Ntibazonkiza
GEITA Gold said the signing of Saido Ntibazonkiza will help a lot to add value to the squad insisting that the player has vast experience to push them further in domestic and international assignments.
The Burundian import has sealed a two-year deal to serve the Geita giants as they continue to assemble enough arsenal for the NBC Premier League and CAF Confederation Cup duels.
In his reaction on thursday, Geita Gold Information Officer Hemed Kivuyo reiterated that they want to create balance in their team by bringing on board foreign as well as domestic players.
“We have a lot of competitions which we need to do well that is why the management has seen it wise to include a player of Ntibazonkiza caliber who knows well the local league and has played many international matches.
“It was not easy to complete his deal because he was being needed by other clubs but we thank God for making it possible for him to join us and we hope that his arrival is timely at our club,” he said.
However, this will be the second time for Ntibazonkiza to play in the country after doing the same with Young Africans where he rose to fame and became household name due to his impressive workrate.
The two parties went separate ways when his contract expired last season and the club could not extend it until now when he is going to offer his services at a new club and another opportunity for him to showcase his potential.
Recently, Geita Gold released seven players who are no longer part of the team and according to Kivuyo, they are still signing other players to fill in the vacant positions before the transfer window closes on August 31st.
In the NBC Premier League matches, they have picked one point from two encounters; They lost 3-0 to Simba in their league opener before a 1-1 draw with Azam.
Last season, they managed to finish fourth thereby winning a ticket to represent the country in the CAF Confederation Cup competition.
