Geita Gold beats Ihefu 1- 0

MBEYA: Geita Gold striker Elius Maguri has opened the 2023/24 Premier League goal account in their 1-0 win over Ihefu.

The game at Southern Highlands Estate Stadium in Mbarali, Mbeya on Tuesday afternoon has seen the Geita based side the first team to annex maximum points.

Also, the match has witnessed Ihefu becoming the first team to drop essential three points from home venue.

“I am pleased to be the first player to net a premier league goal this season, I never expected it,” Maguri says after the match.

On his part, Ihefu Assistant Coach Zuberi Katwila describes the defeat as disappointing saying they will come bang stronger.

His counterpart for Geita Gold Hemed Morroco insist that the victory gives them energy to keep rolling in the league.

However, it is the first ever triumph for Geita Gold at the Southern Highlands Estate arena.
