“This is not the result we anticipated, and as such we need to keep our heads up because there are several matches to play in the group stage and our target is to do well,” Miguel said at a post-match briefing.

He then called on fans to cooperate well and continue to have trust in their team in order to fulfil their intended objectives.

In his remarks, CR Belouizdad trainer, Marcos Paqueta hailed his charges for the good fight, saying they played in accordance with the arranged game plan.

“It was a difficult game, very tough as our opponents played good football, but we are happy with the success and producing a maximum of three points from the home venue is very promising,” he said.

Up next, Yanga host Champions’ League title holders Al Ahly in a match to be staged at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam on December 2nd while CR Belouizdad will interface with Ghana’s side Medeama.
