Gamondi insists unity as arena underway

THE newly hired Young Africans Head Coach, Miguel Gamondi, has called on unity among the club’s players, staff and fans to maintain the two-season glory in the next seasons.

The Argentinian tactician made the remarks during the club’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) held at Julius Nyerere International Convention Center (JNICC) in Dar es Salaam over the weekend.

In his brief video clip, which he shared through social media platforms, Gamondi insisted on unity and cooperation within the club to win more titles.

“I am excited to join a big club with great history; for me, it is one of the biggest clubs in Africa with incredible fans.

“I strongly believe that if we can work together with fans, management, players and technical staff, we can continue to bring more success and great results,” he said.

He also revealed that he has 20 years of coaching football in Africa, which he believes will add value to the club in domestic and continental competitions.

His main challenge next term will be to retain the treble of silverware the club won last season.

He coached big African clubs like Wydad Casablanca, Mamelodi Sundowns, ASEC Mimosas, USM Alger, Esperance and Burkina Faso national team.

In a related development, Yanga President, Hersi Said has cemented plans to construct a state-of-the-art stadium at the club’s headquarters at Jangwani Street, Dar es Salaam, which is still his utmost priority.

“We will ensure that our pledge to construct the stadium is timely.”

“Soon, we are going to draft a proposal ready to be submitted to three banks (NMB, CRDB and NBC) who are our partners to support us in implementing the stadium project,” Hersi said.

According to Hersi, they set FIFA standards for installing the venue and contain all the relevant facilities modern stadiums should have.
