Gamondi approaches Pamba game with caution

YOUNG Africans Head Coach, Miguel Gamondi

DAR ES SALAAM: YOUNG Africans Head Coach, Miguel Gamondi, is approaching the game against Pamba Jiji in the Premier League encounter with caution, as he insists on picking three more points in quest to retain the Premier League title.

Yanga face Pamba Jiji today in their fourth league match at the Azam Complex Stadium in Dar es Salaam.

“I am satisfied with my players’ overall performance.

Sometimes things don’t go as planned, but I don’t focus on individual players.

I look at the team’s overall performance.

A player having an off day is normal worldwide, even for top European players.

However, I’m happy with the progress of all my players,” he noted.

Gamondi acknowledged that while Pamba Jiji, a recently promoted team, has yet to win a match, they remain a formidable opponent.

“They may still be adjusting to the Premier League, but I am aware of their strengths.

Despite not winning any games, they have only conceded five goals in six matches, and they tend to play a very defensive style.

“There is nothing better than scoring a goal in football, but sometimes you score just one or even none.

What I can’t promise is the number of goals, but I can assure our fans that we will give our best and play well to secure the three points,” Gamondi reassured.

The coach admitted that today’s match will be challenging but emphasised that Yanga are well-prepared both mentally and physically.

Yanga have won all three of their previous league matches, collecting a total of nine points.
