Football fraternity mourns Ambassador Kamala

KAGERA: FOOTBALL fraternity in Kagera Region have mourned the passing of the late Ambassador Diodorus Kamala (55) describing him as a legend and an icon.

Jamal Kalumuna who is also a Young Africans SC spokesperson in Kagera Region explained that the late Kamala would be remembered for his great love for Young Africans SC.

“The late Dr Kamala will be remembered for his great love for Young Africans. He was an ardent supporter of Yanga and an icon. We mourn his passing and hope that we shall meet him again in heaven,” he said.

Kamala will also be remembered for his efforts to raise funds for Young Africans during the club’s financial crisis adding that to date the number of Yanga members in the region is over 1,000.

Respicius John, on his side, said the late Kamala will be remembered for his efforts to improve sports activities in Missenyi Council where he supported several clubs.

Kamala’s burial was held last week at Missenyi district’s Bwanjai-Rwamashonge village. He died on February 12th this year, while receiving treatment in Dar es Salaam.
