Feisal outshines Phiri, Polisi face winless demon

YOUNG Africans midfielder Feisal Salum has won the player of the month award after beating Moses Phiri (Simba) and Reliant Lusajo (Namungo).
Also, Namungo’s head coach Honour Janza won the coach of the month award against Ruvu Shooting instructor Charles Mkwasa and KMC’s Hitimana Thiery.
The Tanzania Premier League Board (TPLB) revealed this yesterday in a press statement.
In another NBC Premier League development, Polisi Tanzania FC club chairman Robert Munisi pleaded for patience to their club fans and supporters due to the ongoing topsy-turvy results in the Premier League.
Speaking to the Daily News yesterday, Munisi said the management is satisfied with the team’s progress under Head Coach Joslin Sharif despite the winless run in their six Premier League matches.
He said their results are not good for their team, and they need to fight to get the team out of the danger zone so as to reach the club’s goals.
However, he admitted that the lack of good preparation at the beginning of the season is the reason as the team has not yet found unity and good chemistry.
He admitted missing key players such as Mohamed Mmanga, who got a red card against Ruvu Shooting, and Juma Kukuti, who is doing his university examination, have cost them.
“We are tied, not a very good result for the team because we are going back down, and we have to fight to know what is going on,” he said.
He said he is satisfied with the players’ performance against Geita Gold, Kinondoni Municipal Council (KMC), Yanga and Kagera Sugar.
Munisi promised to improve the areas which are not doing well by recruiting good players in the mini transfer window.
“If you look at how we are going, our team is not bad, but a mini transfer window is coming; we will listen to the head coach’s report,” he said.
On his side, Polisi Tanzania Head coach Joslin Sharif said they will work hard to ensure they get good results in their premier league matches.
Polisi Tanzania have not won in six games of the Premier League this season. They have drawn two against KMC and Coastal Union while losing four matches to Yanga, Kagera Sugar, Geita Gold and Ruvu Shooting.
