YOUNG Africans’ Feisal Salum transfer saga took a new twist on Saturday as the midfield maestro appeared to have bid farewell to team’s supporters and administration as he allegedly heads to Azam.
In the move to force his way out of the defending champions, the Tanzanian international has returned the remaining two year’s contract fee to Yanga whereas he is said to have deposited into the club’s account 112,000,000/-.
And on Saturday amid the ongoing speculation of his transfer saga, Salum wrote in his instagram account the statement bidding farewell to club’s administration and supporters.
In his statement Salum wished the club the best of luck in the remaining part of local and international campaign.
“We enjoyed the moment together at time of happiness and grieved together in times of sadness.
“I will remember many good things I enjoyed at the club and likewise I will quickly forget the bad things and every time when I remember the team supporters I find it difficult to say goodbye to them for the love they have shown me during my stay at the club but that has to happen and today I say goodbye to Wananchi,” read Salum’s statement.
On their part, Yanga through the statement signed by club’s Lawyer and Secretary General Saimon Patrick, have admitted receiving Feisal Salum request to terminate the contract on December 23rd this year and they have responded well to the player’s request.
In his statement Patrick said there is no legal and regulations ground as per his contract with the club where the player has the right to terminate the contract and moreover the contract termination should be agreed by both parties through discussion and while the league campaign is going on.
“We have asked the player to adhere to contract requirements as it is read in his contract with Yanga in which will come to an end in May, 2024,” said Patrick’s statement.
However, Patrick said the club has never received the response from either Feisal Salum himself or his representatives instead they had only received their request to terminate the contract which is contrary to contract signed by the two parties.
The club has also sent back 112,000,000/- which Salum had deposited to club’s account and the club has demanded the Tanzania Football Federation(TFF) and that of World’s football governing body(FIFA) to intervene in observing regulations guiding a team wishing to sign a player from another team.
