Favorable investment climate drives Oryx Energies’ expansion

DAR ES SALAAM : THE Oryx Energies Tanzania has stated that the favorable investment environment created by the government in the oil and gas energy sector has enabled the company to continue bringing energy services closer to the people.
Speaking today in Dar es Salaam during the launch of a new fuel station in the Wazo area, Oryx Energies Tanzania Managing Director, Mr Iman Mtafya, said the company remains committed to supporting government efforts to promote energy access and usage.
“Oryx will continue supporting the government in encouraging energy consumption, and the opening of this station is part of our strategy to bring our services closer to customers.
“We are continuing to invest in various locations. We have started here in Wazo, and soon we will open another station in Dodoma, about 40 kilometers from Dodoma City. Our goal is to demonstrate that, as a company, we are committed to reaching customers wherever they are, including in rural areas.”
Mr Mtafya further explained that Oryx places great importance on safety and has incorporated advanced technology at the new station. He also emphasized the company’s commitment to product quality, noting that Oryx is the only company with its own laboratory for testing fuel quality. This ensures that customers receive high-quality fuel that meets all required standards.
Mr Mtafya added that the company’s continued growth and expansion are a direct result of the government’s efforts to create a conducive investment climate.

“As the government continues to provide a favorable investment environment, we are able to expand our services—not only in Dar es Salaam but also across other regions.
“The framework established by the government through the Ministry of Energy has been a tremendous support to investors in expanding service delivery closer to citizens. In the energy sector, we can clearly see the Minister of Energy’s continued efforts to promote investment.”
Meanwhile, Mr Boniphace Nasibu, Managing Director of CDT Oil and CDT Energies and the operator of the station’s fuel, lubricants, and gas business, said the company had carefully assessed the surrounding community and identified a strong need to bring services closer to residents.

“Our station is located near Madale, where there are military farms, the Wazo Cement Factory, and the residents of Wazo. We are convinced this is the right location to ensure people have reliable access to fuel and cooking gas.”
He assured customers that they would receive all the services they need and enjoy the quality associated with Oryx, while also thanking the company for making the establishment of the station possible.
At the same event, speaking on behalf of Wazo residents, Sheikh Amani Hamis said the opening of the station had not only improved access to fuel and cooking gas but had also created employment opportunities for local youth.
He also expressed gratitude to the government for creating opportunities for investors to invest in Tanzania, enabling Tanzanians to benefit from such investments.
