DAR ES SALAAM: In a bid to strengthen cultural ties and promote understanding between Africa and an eye-opening documentary series has been launched showcasing highlighting inspiring stories of cultural exchange .
Titled “A Glimpse of China in the New Era” Set to air on StarTimes platforms starting late November and throughout December aims to foster understanding and connections between diverse cultures, while emphasizing the potential for friendship and partnership across borders.
Project manager Bob Wang explained that the documentary showcases the achievements of African and international individuals, including artists, entrepreneurs, and environmental advocates, who have thrived in modern China..
He said it features compelling narratives of innovation, cultural integration, and environmental appreciation, offering viewers a glimpse into the dynamic connections between diverse cultures.
“This documentary series serves as an educational journey, encouraging dialogue, inspiring collaboration, and unlocking opportunities for cultural partnerships between Africa and China,” he noted.
He also revealed that alongside the broadcasts on ST Zone, ST Novela E, and the StarTimes ON app, a series of offline activities will take place in major cities, including Dar es Salaam, Bagamoyo, and Arusha.

He added that these activities, such as roadshows, are designed to complement the series by fostering community engagement and celebrating cultural diversity.
He emphasized the importance of the dual broadcasting approach, stating “We are keeping the broadcasting both online and offline to ensure that those interested in understanding international cultures and achieving their goals in such environments can access the latest information.”
He added that the series promises not only to inform but also to inspire, making it a must-watch for anyone interested in exploring the dynamic relationship between Africa and China.
