“We believe that your expertise and experience in marketing and online tourism businesses will boost the efforts of our President Samia Suluhu Hassan who has made great efforts through the Tanzania film ‘The Royal Tour’ in putting Tanzania in a wider picture internationally through tourism and investment,” the PS said.

Expedia is a company that uses modern technologies to advertise and serve more than 400 million people per month with the integration of more than 200 websites while working with airlines and more than 509 partners.

According to information released by the Ministry of Tourism and Natural Resources, the company holds the second position in the world and sometimes the first in the US due to the number of tourists trusting it in the travel and tourism area.

“We build connections. We leverage our platform and technology capabilities across an extensive portfolio of businesses and brands to orchestrate the movement of people and the delivery of travel experiences on both a local and global basis.

“We help our travelers and our partners find the right pathways through millions of possibilities to reach the best possible outcome,” reads a statement issued by Expedia.

However, Dr Abbas had an opportunity to meet the President of Expedia, Ariane Gorin who promised to visit Tanzania once again due to its unique tourism attractions.

Ariane visited the country in 2016 and had the opportunity to tour around Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater.
