Exchange goods to address dollar scarcity, meeting urges

Jinhua, CHINA: The China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) has recommended for the establishment of a system of exchange of goods between Tanzania and China as a way to curb the challenge of dollar scarcity.

The proposal was made during a meeting between the CCPIT and the Federation of Miners’ Associations of Tanzania (FEMATA) led by the Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Minerals, Msafiri Mbibo in Jinhua, China.

According to information released by the Tanzania Consulate in Guangzhou twitter account, the deputy Permanent Secretary was accompanied by a total of 100 companies under FEMATA seeking to exploit various opportunities in the mining sector.

In response, Mayor of Jining City in the Shandong province, Zhang Dong applauded the various efforts made by the Tanzanian government in strengthening the sector by enabling them to find machinery, markets, capital and investors for resources outside the country.
