Envoy Yakubu calls for Diaspora’s support in promoting Tanzanian tourism and investment attractions

PARIS: TANZANIA’S Ambassador to France, Saidi Othman Yakubu, has called on Tanzanians living in France to continue to be development ambassadors by supporting the Government’s efforts to promote Tanzania’s tourism attractions and attract investment from France and Europe in general.

Speaking at the “Tanzanian Night” event organized by the Association of Tanzanians Living in France (CCWU) and held at the Tanzanian Embassy in Paris, Yakubu said the diaspora plays an important role in strengthening Tanzania’s image internationally through culture, trade, investment and tourism.

Ambassador Yakubu explained that the government has continued to place great emphasis on economic diplomacy and urged the diaspora to use their networks, expertise, and experience to promote the many opportunities available in Tanzania

The event was attended by Tanzanians from various parts of France as well as visitors from different countries who came to learn about Tanzania’s history, culture, and heritage.

Among the activities that attracted participants were training on the heritage and development of the Swahili language in the world, exhibitions of traditional Tanzanian costumes including khanga and vitenge, as well as exhibitions and sales of various Tanzanian products.

Participants also had the opportunity to witness Tanzanian cultural exhibitions that showcased the diversity of Tanzanian tribes and traditions, which contributed to increasing the understanding of visitors about the richness of the nation’s her

In addition, the event was decorated with skillfully prepared Tanzanian dishes, including pilau, binzi nyama, beans, green vegetables and other enthusiasm by the guests in attendance.

Concluding the event, Ambassador Yakubu commended CCWU for continuing to bring Tanzanians together in France and using the opportunity to promote Tanzania’s identity, while emphasizing the importance of developing solidarity and cooperation in promoting the country and contributing to its development.

The “Tanzanian Night” event has continued to be an important platform to strengthen the unity of the Tanzanian diaspora in France and promote Tanzanian culture to the international community.
