Energy ministry’s building nears completion

DODOMA: THE Ministry of Energy’s members of staff will relocate to the new building in the capital Dodoma before May 2025, as most of its major works have already been completed.

This comes after the Parliamentary Committee on Energy and Minerals completed inspecting the construction of the Ministry of Energy building in the government city of Mtumba and commended the Ministry for reaching 94 percent completion on the project.

The ministry’s Acting Permanent Secretary, Dr Khatib Kazungu, was involved in the tour of the building.

During the visit, Dr Kazungu said once all members of staff move into the new building, it will enable them to work in one location, thus improving efficiency. Currently, the ministry’s staff members are divided between two locations: Kikuyu and Mtumba.

“We have toured every part of the building, and a lot of excellent work has been done. Both the interior and exterior are very attractive, and I congratulate the Ministry of Energy for this achievement.

Furthermore, the committee would like to commend President Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan for ensuring that funds have been allocated for the construction of many quality government buildings.

Additionally, he urged the Ministry to complete the remaining minor tasks so that staff can move into the building as soon as possible.
