Energy congress crowns Oryx Gas Tanzania as best international company
DAR ES SALAAM: THE 5th Tanzania Energy Congress on Thursday named the Oryx Energies Tanzania as best international company of the year 2023 for the first time.
The congress, which is held at in Dar es Salaam, has brought together stakeholders of the energy sector.
Announcing the award, organizer of the congress, Mr Abdulsamad Abdulrahim, said “this is the first time for the Oryx Energies Tanzania to scoop the award as best international company in energy sector.”
Mr Abdulrahim explained that the company’s victory was a result of its commercial and technical contribution to the growth of the energy sector, especially fuel and gas, in the country during the last 12 months.
Mr Abdulrahim, who doubles as honorary consul of Brazil, clarified that the award was also to recognize innovation and creativity in the business that aim to bring positive changes in the sector.
“This award is special for a company or corporation which has made outstanding contribution in Tanzania,” he said.
“The company that expands technical know-how in the fuel and gas sector for people’s development,” he added.
Elaborating on the process to pick the winner, he said, people voted online page of the Tanzania Energy Congress 2023, hence, the Oryx Energies Tanzania emerged the winner for this year.
“I congratulate the team of the Oryx Energies for the significant contribution and innovative ideas in boosting the energy sector growth, particularly the use of clean energy for cooking,” he said.
After receiving the award, Company’s Managing Director Benoit Araman, stated that the Oryx Energies Tanzania has done many things for the community within a very short period.
For instance, he said, the company had donated over 13,000 gas cylinders and stoves to various groups in the country in efforts to increase the use of clean energy among Tanzanians.
Mr Araman used the platform to thank the government under President Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan through the Rural Energy Authority (REA) for providing high subsidy on gas cylinders, something which gives high relief to the citizens.
