Eight councils successfully construct district hospitals in Kagera

KAGERA: DURING the four years of President Samia Suluhu Hassan’s leadership, all eight councils in Kagera Region including Bukoba DC, Muleba, Biharamulo, Ngara, Karagwe, Kyerwa, Missenyi and Bukoba MC have successfully constructed district hospitals, significantly improving healthcare services for the local population.

Kagera Regional Commissioner (RC) Ms Fatma Mwassa revealed this recently while briefing the Prime Minister, Mr Kassim Majaliwa on the various projects being implemented by the government in different districts.

During President Samia’s leadership various projects were being implemented in efforts to uplift the region’s economic standard.

All the eight Councils- Bukoba DC, Muleba, Biharamulo, Ngara, Karagwe, Kyerwa, Misssenyi and Bukoba MC have managed to construct district hospitals which are offering improved health services to the people, Ms Mwassa said.

She also thanked the government for allocating about 60bn/- which has greatly improved the education sector while 43 new secondary schools have been constructed in Kagera Region.

“On behalf of all Kagera residents, I thank President Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan for allocating a substantial budget for the implementation of projects in various sectors including health, education, water and infrastructure.

The government has also allocated about 1.8bn/- for the completion of health buildings in Muleba District,” she said.
