Dr Samizi leads Tanzanian envoys in African–Nordic Health Summit

STOCKHOLM: THE Deputy Minister for Health, Dr Florence Samizi, has represented the Minister for Health, Mohamed Mchengerwa at the launch of the African–Nordic Health Summit, which begins today, January  22, 2026, in Stockholm, Sweden.

Upon her arrival, Dr Samizi was received by Tanzania’s Ambassador to Sweden, Mobhare Matinyi, at the Embassy of Tanzania in Sweden.

The summit is which starts today is being organized through a collaboration between the network of African women ambassadors in the Nordic countries, The Maternity Foundation, Dalberg Media, and the Danish Alliance for Global Health, together with other international partners, including the Global Financing Facility, World Diabetes Foundation, Ferring Pharmaceuticals, and Laerdal Global Health.

The main objective of the summit is to discuss maternal and child health issues as well as efforts to combat non-communicable diseases.

The summit brings together government leaders from African and Nordic countries, prominent personalities, business leaders, and civil society organizations.
