Dr Samia calls on Tanzanians to cooperate fully with the Criminal Commission of Inquiry

DAR ES SALAAM: PRESIDENT Samia Suluhu Hassan has called on Tanzanians to cooperate fully with the Criminal Commission of Inquiry established to investigate incidents of violence that occurred during and after the October 2025 General Elections, saying public support is essential for the commission to effectively discharge its mandate.

Speaking during the inauguration of the commission at the State House in Dar es Salaam yesterday, President Samia said the success of the inquiry would largely depend on the cooperation of citizens and other stakeholders.

She urged Tanzanians to assist the commission by providing relevant information and other necessary support, instead of obstructing or interfering with its work.

The President also called on the public to allow the commission to operate independently and without undue pressure, noting that its primary objective is to establish the truth surrounding the violence and alleged violations of the law that occurred during and after the October 2025 General Elections.

President Samia said the findings of the commission are expected to contribute to accountability and strengthen the rule of law in addressing the incidents under investigation.
