Dr Nchimbi leads Tanzanians in the Night Gala to celebrate 62 years of the Union

DAR ES SALAAM: VICE President Emmanuel Nchimbi, has stressed on the importance of national solidarity as an important way to honour the founders of the Union, the late Father of the Nation, Julius Kambarage Nyerere and the late Abeid Amani Karume.

VP made emphasis during the Tanzanian Night Festival, which is a celebration of the 62nd Anniversary of the Union, held in Dar es Salaam.

He said it is President Samia’s emphasis on youth and Tanzanians in general about having solidarity to protect unity and peace.

The VP has urged Tanzanians to reflect and focus on building solidarity to ensure that the Union is protected.

He has stressed the importance of tolerance in expressing ideas, consulting, and building a mechanism for agreement even on issues that challenge each other’s ideas.

Initially giving an introductory speech, the Minister of State in the Office of the Vice President (Union and Environment) Engineer Hamad Yussuf Masauni said that the Festival itself aims for peace, unity and solidarity among the citizens of both sides of the Union.

He congratulated President Samia and President Mwinyi for successfully resolving 22 out of 25 Union issues.

In addition, he said that various activities have been held during the 62nd Anniversary of the Union, including the launch of various development projects, conferences, and debates on the Union aimed at educating the citizens.
