Dr Mwinyi reappoints Abdulla as Zanzibar’s 2nd Vice President

ZANZIBAR: THE President of Zanzibar and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council, Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi, has reappointed Hemed Suleiman Abdulla as the Second Vice President of Zanzibar.
The appointment was officially announced today, November 6, 2025, through a statement issued by the Secretary of the Revolutionary Council and Chief Secretary, Engineer Zena Saidi. The statement indicated that the appointment takes effect immediately.
According to the statement, Hemed Suleiman Abdulla will be officially sworn in on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., in the grounds of the Zanzibar State House. The ceremony is expected to be attended by various government leaders, political party representatives, and invited guests, marking an important event in strengthening the leadership of the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar under President Dr. Mwinyi.

This reappointment reflects President Dr. Mwinyi’s strong confidence in Hemed Suleiman Abdulla, who has continued to demonstrate commitment and integrity in his role since his initial appointment during the previous term.
During his first term in office, Hemed closely collaborated with senior government officials in implementing development plans and government policies, particularly those aimed at improving the welfare of the people of Zanzibar.
