Dr Mgaya appointed new VETA’s czar

TANZANIA: The Board of Education and Vocational Training has appointed Dr Prosper Mgaya as the new Director General of Vocational Education and Training Authority (VETA).

A press statement issued by VETA public relations manager Sitta Peter said that Dr Mgaya takes over Dr Pancras Bujulu who retired on March 15, 2022.

According to Mr Peter, from March last year the position of Director General was held by CPA Anthony Kasore who is the finance director of VETA.

Prior to the appointment, Dr Mgaya was the Deputy Principal of the National College of Transport (NIT) Academics, Research and Counseling.

Dr Mgaya is an expert in Water Resources Engineering and has held various positions in the public service including being a lecturer and holding various leadership positions at the Dar es Salaam Institute of Technology (DIT) and the National Transport College (NIT).

He officially started as VETA’s news boss effective from November 1, 2023.
