Dominant wins, dramatic comebacks thrill BDL action

DAR ES SALAAM: THE Basketball Dar es Salaam League (BDL) delivered another electrifying round of action at Don Bosco Upanga in the City on Thursday evening.
The showdown featured a mix of dominant wins and dramatic turnarounds in both men and women categories.
In the women’s showdown, Polisi Stars kicked off the day in emphatic fashion with a resounding 95–18 victory over Kurasini Divas.
Their superior coordination and scoring efficiency overwhelmed the Divas, making it one of the most lopsided games of the tournament so far.
Tausi Royals followed with an equally dominant display, dismantling the UDSM Queens 120–25.
The Royals controlled every quarter, showcasing both offensive firepower and solid defence as they underlined their status as serious title contenders with an impressive victory.
The men’s category brought high drama as Mchenga Star edged past Kurasini Heat in a thrilling 68–65 comeback win.
Kurasini Heat led 33–27 at halftime and looked set for victory, but Mchenga Star staged an impressive turnaround in the second half, capitalising on key turnovers to snatch a narrow win.
In another men’s fixture, the Kampala International University of Tanzania (KIUT) team outplayed Polisi 70–41.
KIUT held a 32–21 lead at halftime and maintained their momentum with disciplined execution and sharp shooting in the final quarters to seal the victory.
