Delaware Upanga SC thrash Aces A by 136 runs

DAR ES SALAAM: DELAWARE Upanga SC registered a resounding 136-run victory over Aces A in the TCA DC Super League 50 Overs 2025 at Gymkhana Oval in Dar es Salaam on Saturday.

The match saw Delaware Upanga SC set a challenging target of 324, which proved too much for Aces A as they were bowled out for just 187 in 43.1 overs.

After winning the toss, Delaware Upanga SC opted to bat first and posted a total of 323/10 in 47 overs.

The innings was built on solid contributions from Ajay Yadav (86 runs off 64 balls), Ramesh Alluri (70 runs off 73 balls), and Maker Mukesh (56 runs off 46 balls).

Yadav’s aggressive knock featured 12 boundaries and one six and he was particularly dominant during the middle overs.

Alluri’s steady innings included eight boundaries and one six, while Mukesh provided crucial support with six boundaries and a six of his own. Notable cameos from Ashish Kamania (28 off 13 balls) and Sanjay Bom (25 off 18 balls) further boosted the total.

The Aces A bowlers struggled to contain the free-flowing batting, with Arun Yadav being the pick of the bowlers for his team, taking 4 wickets for 34 runs in 10 overs.

Salum Jumbe also contributed with 2 wickets for 42 runs from his 10 overs. Despite the best efforts of the bowlers, Aces A could not halt Delaware’s charge to a formidable total.

Chasing 324, Aces A’s batting line-up faltered under pressure. The top order crumbled quickly, with only Arun Yadav (28 off 30 balls), Salum Jumbe (47 off 61 balls), and Aisah Chibanda (23 off 18 balls) managing to reach double figures.

Aces A’s run chase fell apart after early wickets, and the middle and lower order failed to provide resistance. The team’s efforts were in vain as they were bowled out for 187, falling 136 runs short of their target.

Muhammad Sohail was the standout bowler for Delaware Upanga SC, claiming 5 wickets for 29 runs in 6.1 overs, including a pivotal spell that dismantled Aces A’s lower order.

Rishen Patel, Sanjay Bom, and Ramesh Alluri also contributed to the success with a wicket apiece.

Sohail’s outstanding performance with the ball earned him the Player of the Match award, as his crucial wickets derailed Aces A’s chase at vital moments.
