TANZANIA: THE NBC Mainland Premier League is becoming more intense with each passing game. Teams are fighting so that they secure comfortable positions at the end of the season.
The teams willing to be at the top, if they fail, would wish to finish in the middle of the standings, or at least avoid relegation.
Every match seems crucial, and each team is giving their all, fighting as if it were their last breath.
The coaches of Azam and Mashujaa reflected on their league race on Wednesday evening at Azam Complex in Dar es Salaam after their encounter.
It was a tense showdown, as both teams battled it out, ultimately settling for a hard-fought goalless draw.
Following the results Azam maintained their second position in the top-flight league, having accumulated 51 points from 23 games.

On the other hand, Mashujaa found themselves struggling in the relegation zone, sitting on 14th place with just 22 points.
After the match, Azam’s Head Coach, Youssoph Dabo, admitted that his team lacked the determination needed to secure a win.
He acknowledged the quality of their opponents, emphasising the importance of patience and the need for improvement.
“We lacked determination today. We understand that it is impossible to win every match, despite our ability to outplay any opponent. Sometimes, we have to accept that not every game will end in victory,” Dabo explained.
The tactician expressed disappointment at their failure to convert chances into goals, attributing the goalless draw to a lack of luck.
However, he remained optimistic about their future encounters, urging his players to get a lesson from their mistakes and strive for better results in future.
