Dedication: JK to grace Dimpoz album
THE former president of Tanzania, Jakaya Kikwete is expected to grace the launch of Ommy Dimpoz new album titled Dedication at Johari Rotana Hall in Dar es Salaam tonight.
Ommy Dimpoz, one of the Bongo Flava mega stars, has been silent for many years and his comeback has once again put him on the spotlight.
Speaking to the media yesterday, Ommy Dimpoz (real name Omary Nyembo) said the launch will be held late in evening and it will be attended by diplomats and top government officials.
To brighten the occasion, there will be series of performance from the country’s mega stars before Ommy Dimpoz digitally releases his 15-song album.
He listed the songs as ‘Marry You’ featuring Nandy(Faustine Mfinanga), ‘My Queen’, ‘Ngolowane’, ‘Happy Birthday’, ‘Vacation’ and many more.
In addition, he has also featured Marioo in ‘Hasara ya Roho’.
Moreover, he added that it is his first album released this year after a long silence.
He also insisted the media practitioners to support works done by musicians and promote them worldwide.
“Musicians and Media outlets depend on each other; therefore we need to cooperate so as to deliver artistes’ messages to the society,” he added.
Other songs in the album are ‘Moyo’, ‘Anaconda’, ‘Mon Bebe’, ‘Wale Wale’, ‘Zekete’, ‘My Woman’, I Gatch you’, ‘Mpela Mpela’, ‘Magdalena’.
The launch event is sponsored by CRDB Bank, GSM, Johari Rotana, Lavy Sanitary Pads, Max, Silent Ocean and HADDY.
