DC hails Yas for advancing digital access to community

TABORA: UYUI District Commissioner Mohamed Mtulyakwaku has commended Yas Tanzania for expanding access to affordable digital and financial services, helping communities adapt to the rapidly evolving digital landscape.

He highlighted Yas’s role in promoting digital inclusion and economic growth, calling the store a gateway to opportunities and economic empowerment for the local community.

Yas’s Director of Customer Service and Operations, Ms Mwangaza Matotola, reaffirmed the company’s mission to empower Tanzanians with accessible, needs driven technology.

“With the launch of our new store in Tabora, we strengthen our commitment to bringing technology to where it’s needed most. Our goal is to enable youth, entrepreneurs and all Tanzanians to thrive in the digital economy. Yas and Mixx by Yas are proud to be trusted partners in this journey,” she said.

Yas’s Central Zone Director, Mr Said Idd, said the new store will offer SIM registration, Mixx financial services, device sales (routers, MiFi, Simujanja smartphones) and business support through the Mjasiriamali Box.

Mr Idd noted that the rebranding from Tigo and Tigo Pesa to Yas and Mixx reflects a stronger focus on innovation, customer empowerment and community engagement.

“Tabora plays a vital role in Tanzania’s digital future and we’re proud to bring services closer to the people,” he said.
