DAR ES SALAAM: SIMBA coach Fadlu Davids commended his team’s 3-0 victory over Tabora United but stressed the need for improvement in certain areas, particularly in finishing sharpness, in order to meet their project’s objectives.
He made these comments shortly after their win at KMC Stadium on Sunday.
Davids commended his players for sticking to the plan and preventing any shots against them throughout the 90 minutes.
“Let me congratulate my players, they stuck to the plan throughout the game and never allowed any shot against us in all 90 minutes which is very good.
“In terms of control, we need to score more goals and we are in that process…we have so much to do and this is just the beginning of the project”.
Despite the win, Davids expressed the need for scoring more goals and emphasised the importance of securing the win earlier in the game.
He also mentioned the disappointment of losing Joshua Mutale but acknowledged the progress in the team and the work that still needs to be done.

“I think we needed to kill off the match a bit earlier but I am satisfied with the level we are at and I am disappointed to lose Joshua Mutale…there is progress in the team though we have a lot of work to do.”
Tabora United’s Coach Francis Kimanzi, on the other hand, acknowledged the team’s defeat but remained motivated, highlighting the ongoing development of their project.
He mentioned that they did their best and utilised all available resources, despite being outperformed by their opponents.
“For today, I think my boys did their best, they are motivated and this is the project we are building slowly and soon, we are going to be better.
“We did our best but our opponents were superior, we used all our available resources (players) but could not manage to make something tangible from the game.
“We have learnt a lot and in our next matches, people should expect to see many positive changes,” said the Kenyan coach who is having his debut in the country’s Premier League.
Simba’s next match will be against Fountain Gate at the same venue on Sunday, while Tabora United will travel to face Namungo at Majaliwa Stadium in Lindi on the same day.
