Simba taste Tabora United acid test

DARESSALAAM: : SIMBA will face Tabora United in their opening fixture at KMC Stadium today, with both coaches anticipating a challenging encounter.
During the press briefing yesterday, Simba’s coach Fadlu Davis highlighted after their Community Shield campaign their focus is on the league with particular attention on every match they play.
He continued that their focus now shifts to the league especially their opponent Tabora United who they have limited information on.
The coach emphasised that the primary goal has been to build and refine the squad.
“Despite limited information on Tabora, our primary goal is to build and refine the squad.
The team is now in the sixth week of their preparation and although the squad is still fine-tuning, they are confident in their readiness for the league matches.”
In terms of tactical adjustments, the coach has focused on improving attacking fluidity and non-verbal communication among the players.
The coach acknowledged that more goals are needed and that scoring opportunities should be converted more effectively.
The coach also touched on the new players, specifically Leonel Christian Ateba, who recently joined the squad.
He highlighted Lionel’s addition is expected to enhance the team’s quality, though his full fitness and availability for upcoming matches remain uncertain.
“He is currently in the second week of his pre-season preparation and has only participated partially in training sessions so far.

The team is closely monitoring his progress and assessing his fit within their playing style.”
Tabora United’s coach, Francis Kimanzi, acknowledged Simba’s prominence in Tanzanian football, stressing they are aware of the significant challenge ahead.
Despite a less successful season last year, Tabora United is gearing up for a stronger performance with a revamped coaching staff and several new players.
Kimanzi sees the match against Simba as a valuable early-season test.
“Facing Simba at this early stage provides a crucial opportunity to gauge our readiness and assess our progress,” Kimanzi said. “It’s a chance to evaluate our preparations and pinpoint areas that need improvement as we advance in the league.”
