DODOMA: TANZANIA is preparing to host the E-Learning Africa International Symposium, a significant event poised to attract regional and international technology companies to the nation’s burgeoning business and investment landscape.
For the second time, Tanzania will host this pivotal symposium, scheduled to take place in May at the Julius Nyerere International Convention Centre (JNICC) in Dar es Salaam.
The event, themed “Reimagining Education and Human Capital Development for Africa’s Future Prosperity,” will focus on strengthening the role of digital technology in education and other sectors across the continent.
In a press briefing held in Dodoma, Minister for Education, Science and Technology, Professor Adolph Mkenda, outlined the anticipated benefits of the symposium, emphasising its potential to drive the country’s economic growth.
“All African countries have confirmed their participation, which demonstrates the continent’s commitment to advancing our educational systems through technology,” he stated.
Professor Mkenda underscored the importance of the symposium in promoting partnerships between government entities and private sectors, aiming to create joint initiatives that could enhance local innovation and business development.
“This forum is a crucial opportunity for Tanzanian innovators to showcase their talents and connect with potential investors and partners,” he added.

With the anticipated influx of participants, including educators, policymakers and technology experts, the symposium promises to not only elevate Tanzania’s profile as a hub for digital education but also bolster the national economy.
The minister highlighted the various services and economic activities that will be generated during the three day event, which are expected to support local businesses and create new job opportunities.
As Tanzania continues to advance its digital transformation initiatives, the elearning Africa International Symposium stands as a testament to its commitment to reimagine education and enhance human capital development as key drivers for national prosperity.
According to Prof Mkenda, with preparations already underway, the government is optimistic that the symposium will serve as a launching pad for innovative solutions in the education sector and catalyse sustainable technological partnerships that will benefit both the local economy and the continent as a whole.
He said Tanzania eagerly anticipates welcoming a diverse group of 1,500 participants to this landmark event, aiming to position itself at the forefront of Africa’s digital education revolution.
According to him, the country will host over 50 ministers from 49 African countries, as he also noted that Tanzania was poised to equally host the participants to the different beautiful tourist destinations.
