Dar residents assured of heightened security measures heading to Sabasaba celebrations
DAR ES SALAAM: THE Dar es Salaam Regional Commissioner, Mr Albert Chalamila has assured the public of heightened security measures ahead of the upcoming Sabasaba trade fair and related celebrations, emphasizing that the safety of citizens, national infrastructure and investments remains a top priority.
The RC made the statement today, July 2, 2026, in Dar es Salaam saying that the regional administration, in collaboration with residents, security agencies and peace ambassadors, has intensified efforts to safeguard lives, property and key economic installations across the city.
According to Mr Chalamila Dar es Salaam continues to play a central role as Tanzania’s main investment hub, diplomatic centre, economic engine and the country’s most populous urban area, making its security and stability a matter of national importance.

“Protecting the city’s infrastructure, including its transport networks and port system that connects Tanzania to landlocked neighbouring countries, is essential for sustaining economic growth and regional trade,” he said.
Moreover, he urged continued cooperation between citizens and security organs, saying peace remains the foundation of development and must be defended collectively to ensure stability before, during and after major national events such as Sabasaba.
