Dar, Madrid intensify sports, tourism ties

TANZANIA in collaboration with Spain has intensified cooperative efforts in developing sports in the country, especially football.

This comes after the Minister of Culture, Arts and Sports, Mohamed Mchengerwa held a visual meeting on Monday with Real Madrid’s top officials on putting more investment in developing the talents of young football players starting from academies.

Real Madrid is a Spanish professional football club based in Madrid founded in 1902.

The Docket Minister added that the club has agreed to cooperate with Tanzania in developing young talents who can later be developed into world class players.

In addition, Mchengerwa said the cooperation that will be built between the two countries through sports will also help in promoting Tanzania tourism.

Moreover, he said that Tanzania has a great opportunity to promote sports at the global level as well as boosting the country’s economy.

Meanwhile, Tanzania in collaboration with Turkey has agreed in building strong cooperation aiming at developing the country’s film.

The cooperation built by both countries has intensified efforts on providing training to Tanzanian actors and actresses, sharing experiences on how to improve film production as well as creating a good environment that will be easy for them to do their work effectively.

This comes after the Minister for Culture, Arts and Sports, Mohamed Mchengerwa, was in Turkey to support the National Amputee Football team, Tembo Warriors in the World Cup 2022 campaign and there is whereby he paid a visit to areas where Turkish movies; The Dirilis Ertugrul and Kurulus Osman (the Ottoman) are being produced.
