DAR ES SALAAM: THE Minister for Community Development, Gender, Women and Special Groups, Dr. Dorothy Gwajima, has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to economically empowering women as a key driver for national development and prosperity.
Dr. Gwajima made the remarks today in Dar es Salaam during a ceremony to receive copies of a guideline book on the formation and coordination of the Women’s Economic Empowerment Platform.

The event also marked the official launch of a Special Committee tasked with educating and encouraging women to join the platform. The ceremony was organized by the Tanzania Commercial Bank (TCB).
Speaking at the event, the Managing Director of TCB, Adam Mihayo, acknowledged the vital role women play in the financial sector and emphasized the bank’s continued support for strategic government initiatives aimed at uplifting the economic status of women and the country at large.
Meanwhile, the President of the Tanzania Bankers Association, Tusekelege Mwaikasu, said the newly launched guideline will provide direction in implementing the Ten-Year Financial Sector Development Plan, enabling banks to actively contribute to efforts focused on empowering women economically.
