Over 3,000 delegates from more than 70 countries are expected to meet in Dar es Salaam to contemplate on building back better food systems and food sovereignty with youth and women at the center.
“Dar es Salaam is ready to host the summit’s delegates in terms of security, communication and accommodation…locals should grab opportunities that will emerge from this event,” RC Chalamila says as he welcomes residents to showcase their products during the summit.
He says the summit is a good opportunity for Dar es Salaam residents to learn various issues pertaining to the agriculture sector as well as investment.
On his part, Arusha International Conference Centre (AICC) AICC Managing Director Mr Ephraim Mafuru says a total of 2,600 hotel rooms have been booked by delegates of the summit.
The summit will be held under the theme: “Recover, Regenerate, Act: Africa’s Solutions to Food Systems Transformation.”
Among 70 speakers of the summit are President Samia Suluhu Hassan, President Hussein Mwinyi, former Tanzania’s President Jakaya Kikwete and Minister for Agriculture Mr Hussein Bashe and Minister for Livestock Mr Abdallah Ulega.
