A NEW cashless campaign unveiled by CRDB Bank is eliciting excitement among Arusha residents.
Dubbed Tisha Na TemboCARD, the campaign entices customers to cultivate a culture of using TemboCard in their various transactions and help put the country on the right path to meeting its cashless aspirations.
The campaign also enables CRDB customers to stand a chance of winning various prizes, including watching 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar later this year.
Speaking here at the weekend, Zawadiel Lembris Kaaya who is also a businessman at Kilombero described the service as the safety way of making transactions.
“It is very safe and efficient when doing transactions using these electronic cards, and it has rewarded me handsomely,” explained Mr Kaaya during the launch of the campaign in the region, here on Saturday.
The businessman reveled on the service saying it enabled digital payments anywhere around the world.
For his part, Anna Mollel who runs a restaurant in the city, said the service has spared her the hustle of queuing in banks waiting for cash when she can easily swap and make payments.
“The service has made our lives a lot easier, coupled by the chance of traveling to watch the World Cup,” she added.
Earlier on, CRDB Acting Zonal Manager David Peter told reporters that the objective of the campaign was to cultivate a culture of using bank cards in transactions as it was safer and efficient compared to carrying and using cash.
Commenting on the prizes, Mr Peter disclosed that those rewarded include customers who would perform more transactions through their TemboCARD Visa throughout the campaign.
“We need our customers to do away with cash which is unsafe and insecure,” explained the CRBD Acting Zonal Manager.
According to the CRBD official those who do transactions during the entire campaign will qualify for a trip to Qatar to witness the World Cup tournaments.
