CRDB Insurance envoy, Hamisa Mobetto reveals how insurance cover saved her

DAR ES SALAAM: Tanzanian Bongo Flava artist Hamisa Mobetto has revealed that insurance saved her from suffering major financial losses after her car was involved in a road accident caused by a drunk driver.
Hamisa made the remarks in Dar es Salaam during an event where she was officially unveiled as the ambassador for CRDB Insurance’s “Upo Salama” campaign.
She said that without insurance, she would have been forced to spend a significant amount of money repairing her vehicle.

“I was involved in an accident caused by a university student who was driving under the influence of alcohol. Fortunately, I had insurance, which covered the repairs to my car. Without it, I would have suffered a much greater financial loss,” Hamisa said.
The singer also thanked CRDB Insurance for entrusting her with the ambassadorial role, describing the appointment as a great honour.
“I thank God for this opportunity and everyone who believed in me. I will do my best to fulfil my responsibilities.
I am also an insurance policyholder, so I understand its importance, and I believe that is one of the reasons I was chosen as an ambassador,” she said.
Speaking at the event, CRDB Insurance Chief Executive Officer Wilson Mnzava said the “Upo Salama” campaign was launched to raise public awareness about the importance of insurance in protecting people’s assets and reducing the financial impact of unexpected losses.
Mnzava said Hamisa will serve as the campaign ambassador for six months, during which she will help educate the public on the benefits of insurance in safeguarding property and livelihood.
