Council of Arab Ambassadors to Tanzania: We reject smear campaign against Qatar hosting World Cup 22

Qatar’s hosting of the FIFA World Cup on 20^th this month represents a major breakthrough in the field of sport, which constitutes a global platform that attracts international attention. The brotherly State of Qatar, its leadership, government, and people have made enormous contributions that have enhanced the radiance of this country. These contributions have made it today a magnet for international attention.

As we follow with interest the appreciated efforts that were made by Qatar to host the largest sports tournament in the world with high professionalism, we are confident that it will leave a great impact on current and future generations.  We are also following with great concern the campaigns of confusion and slander that the State of Qatar is being exposed to, led by Western media, at a time when Qatar is preparing to launch the FIFA World Cup 2022.

The unprecedented and malicious distortion campaign against the State of Qatar aims to undermine the achievement of being the first Arab country in the Middle East to host the World Football tournament, which is a historic entitlement for the Arab region.

We, as ambassadors of the Arab countries in the United Republic of Tanzania, based on the Arab consensus, condemn the fierce and malicious campaign, reject the smear campaigns and incitement of hatred against the State of Qatar, and declare our full solidarity with the efforts of Qatar, which will refute these slander and smear campaigns by presenting an unparalleled version of the World Cup.

We, the Council of Arab Ambassadors accredited to the United Republic of Tanzania, pledge our solidarity with the State of Qatar, in the face of these slanders and lies, regardless of their source, and we are confident that the strong capabilities Qatar possesses will make the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 a successful sporting event for global peace, cooperation, harmony and coexistence between nations. We congratulate and appreciate the steps taken by the State of Qatar and we offer our unconditional support for the success of World Cup Qatar 2022.
