Twiga Stars have been held to a goalles draw by Botswana in a tense Hollywoodbets COSAFA Women’s Championship match at Madibaz Stadium, South Africa.

It was the second game for the country’s envoys in the contest after defeating Comoros 3-0 in their inaugural match at the same venue.

Up next, Twiga Stars face Malawi on Wednesday, a repeat of last year’s finale of which the former emerged 1-0 victors to lift the silverware.

However, as it stands, hosting side South Africa command group A with 6 points seconded by Mozambique with 4 points while Angola and Mauritius sit on third and fourth slots with one point and point-less apiece.

In group B, Zambia are dictating terms after collecting six points from two outings, while Namibia and Lesotho are tied on three points and Eswatini are rooted at the bottom with one point.

In group C, Tanzania leads with four points from two matches meaning that a triumph on Wednesday will see them sliding into the semifinals.

Tanzania are being featured in the competition as a guest team who are anxious to retain the championship for a second time in a row.
