DODOMA: CHIEF Registrar of the Judiciary of Tanzania, Eva Nkya, has called on institutions within the criminal justice system to continue collaborating to ensure timely justice delivery, emphasising that cooperation is one of the key pillars of success.
Ms Nkya made these remarks yesterday while closing the National Law Week exhibition at Nyerere Square in Dodoma, where she expressed gratitude to all participating institutions. She urged them to sustain their collaboration to enhance efficiency in the delivery of criminal justice.
“I thank all participants and stakeholders who took part. You are the driving force behind the success of Law Week, where the Judiciary has worked with our partners to provide legal education and justice services at exhibition booths and by reaching out to citizens where they are. Through this outreach, we have been able to reach more people, fulfilling the Judiciary’s third pillar, which emphasises working with other stakeholders to effectively provide legal education and access to justice,” she stated.
The Chairperson of the Exhibition Organising Committee and Registrar of the Court of Appeal, George Herbert, stated that this year’s exhibition successfully reached more people both within and outside the exhibition booths.

“We had 39 institutions participating and a total of 3,446 citizens visited the booths to receive legal education on rights and dispute resolution. Additionally, we reached more people through various media channels,” Mr Herbert said.
Delivering a vote of thanks on behalf of all participating institutions, Director of Forensic Science Services from the Government Chemist Laboratory Authority (GCLA), Mr David Elias, said the institutions took part in the exhibition to educate the public on legal matters and address their challenges.
“We have actively participated in this exhibition, focusing on providing education and serving Tanzanians through the infrastructure facilitated by the Sixth-Phase Government under the leadership of the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan. Her vision aligns with the National Development Vision 2050, which aims for integrated systems through technology and ICT,” Elias stated
