Construction of Arusha Stadium for the AFCON records good progress

ARUSHA: THE Director of Policy and Government Coordination from the Prime Minister’s Office (Policy, Parliament, and Coordination), Mr. Paul Sangawe, conducted an inspection visit to the football stadium currently under construction in Arusha Region.

 During the visit, he called for public awareness efforts to inform citizens about the project’s progress and the various opportunities it presents.

While at the project site, Mr. Sangawe received an official report on the implementation of the construction work and expressed satisfaction with the current progress.

 According to the report, the project has reached 51percent completion exceeding the target of 50 percent set for this stage of the work plan.

The stadium, which is expected to be completed on schedule, is part of the government’s broader efforts to improve sports infrastructure across the country. Once completed, it will accommodate approximately 30,000 spectators at a time, significantly contributing to the growth of sports as well as social and economic events in Arusha Region and surrounding areas.

Ongoing construction activities include the completion of spectator stands, the construction of various rooms on the lower floor, and the installation of systems for electricity, fire safety, and ICT. The government continues to emphasize the importance of collaboration among all stakeholders to ensure the project is completed to standard and within the planned timeframe.
