SOUTH AFRICAN prison escapee, Thabo Bester and his lover, Dr Nandipha Magudumana are among three people who have been arrested in Tanzania, Police Force confirm.
According to the Police report made available to the Daily News on Saturday evening, a third person who has been arrested alongside with the duo has been identified as Zakaria Alberto.
The Force’s spokesperson SACP David Misime says local and international legal arrangements are underway.
“It’s true that Thabo Bester, Dr Nandipa Magudumana and Zakaria Alberto have been arrested by the Police Force,” says SACP Misime.
Before the confirmation of the trio’s arrest, various SA online outlets had it that Thabo Bester and his girlfriend Dr. Nandipha Magudumana were reportedly arrested in Tanzania.
Bester and Dr Magudumana have been reported by SA media to be on the run since the former’s escape became public last month.
It had been believed Bester had died in a prison fire, but he had escaped in May last year, according to ENCA news website. .
Bester has been linked to various horrific incidents in South Africa including rape and murder.
Some SA media have gone further to dub him as the ‘Facebook rapist’.
