‘Conduct flawless mini-transfer’

TANZANIA Football Federation (TFF) has called on clubs to strengthen their squads in the mini-transfer window which opens today through to January 16th next year.

The federation’s Media and Information Officer Clifford Ndimbo made the call on Thursday saying clubs to be involved in this exercise are those parading in the Premier League, Serengeti Lite Women’s Premier League (SLWPL), Championship and First League.

He urged them to strictly adhere to the player transfer and recruitment regulations saying those which will go against the regulations will be penalised accordingly.

“As the mini-transfer window opens, we hope that clubs which need to reinforce their squads will do so by following proper guidelines which should be accomplished within the stipulated period.

“We believe that one month is enough for them to fulfill transfers and signings because it is not a time to make a total reshuffle of the team but rather to just make minor adjustments,” Ndimbo said.

He also cemented that no extension period will be entertained beyond January 16th, clubs should fully be aware that any deals to be conducted thereafter will not be rendered valid.

Furthermore, Ndimbo said the federation is hopeful the exercise will unfold well since they have already provided a seminar to club managers on how to execute transfer and recruitment of players without embracing problems.

“In case of any problems, clubs should contact TFF for immediate action to be taken while those which have a tendency of signing players with valid contracts at other clubs should stop the malpractice or else will be punished,” he narrated him.

Meanwhile, giants Simba and Young Africans who represent the country in CAF Interclub games are likely set to take centre stage during this period so as to re-charge their sides.

The two teams have already indicated that they have to beef up their brigades ahead of international engagements and at the same time, offloading some of their irregular players to provide space for others to fit in.

Likewise, teams with no international duties are also likely going to upgrade their squads so that they can withstand the domestic leagues and perform better.
