COASTAL 0-3 SIMBA: Reds return to top of Premier League table

Simba's Cleotus Chama celebration at Mkwakwani

Simba have climbed to the top of NBC Premier League table courtesy of a 3-0 triumph against Coastal Union at Mkwakwani Stadium in Tanga on Saturday afternoon.

Zambian imports Moses Phiri and Clatous Chama were on target with the former netting a brace whereas his colleague sealed the show with one goal to his name.

Phiri has now matched Young African’s striker Fiston Mayele with ten goals each to lead the season’s golden boot chase which has also turned out to be an interesting package of the campaign.

The victory has seem them claiming 34 points in 15 matches, two points above second and third placed Yanga and Azam which have 32 point apiece.

For Coastal Union, things continue to fall apart as they remain plastered on 13th place with 12 points from 14 encounters, not a good trend for them.

It is an eighth loss for the Tanga based side this season.

The league action continues tomorrow with a single fixture as defending champions Yanga welcomes
Tanzania Prisons at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.

On Monday, Azam shall face Polisi Tanzania at Ushirika Stadium in Moshi to climax the round of 15.
