Coast Region leaders urged to break down silos for effective development
COAST: COAST Regional Commissioner Abubakar Kunenge has called on government leaders to break down silos and work together effectively to address the challenges facing their communities.
In a recent ceremony at the regional headquarters in Kibaha Town, where he swore in the new District Commissioner for Rufiji District, Lt. Col. Fredrick Komba, Kunenge emphasised the importance of unity and collaboration among regional leaders.
“Working in isolation is counterproductive,” Kunenge stated. “By breaking down silos and sharing information, we can identify more effective solutions to the pressing issues facing our region.”
The Coast Region, like many parts of Tanzania, faces a range of challenges, including poverty, unemployment and infrastructure development. Kunenge stressed that these issues cannot be addressed in isolation and require a coordinated effort from all levels of government.
In addition to encouraging teamwork, Kunenge also urged leaders to prioritise safety and security in their areas and to ensure that the ruling party, Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM)’s manifesto, is implemented effectively.
Speaking on behalf of District Commissioners in the region, Kibaha District Commissioner Nickson Simon echoed Kunenge’s call, reminding leaders to work hard and uphold ethical standards.

By fostering a culture of teamwork and collaboration, the Coast Region can overcome its challenges and achieve sustainable development for its residents.
