Coast RC pledges investor-friendly environment

KIBAHA: COAST Regional Commissioner, Mr Stanslaus Nyongo has pledged to maintain an investorfriendly environment in the region, saying attracting investment and empowering young people economically will be among his top priorities.

Speaking during the handover of the Regional Commissioner’s office from former RC Abubakar Kunenge, who has been transferred to Songwe, Mr Nyongo said Coast remains one of the country’s key investment destinations.

“I will work with my fellow leaders to ensure the region continues to provide a conducive environment for investment. The goal is to strengthen the economy and create jobs for the youth,” Mr Nyongo said.

He said he would work with regional leaders to expand the economy through agriculture, livestock, the blue economy and other productive sectors.

“Our joint efforts must continue serving the people by addressing their challenges while growing both household incomes and the national economy,” he said.

The regional commissioner also called for community support in empowering young people to help them adapt to changing economic opportunities and improve their livelihoods.

On land disputes, Mr Nyongo said resolving conflicts between farmers and livestock keepers would receive special attention.

“Land disputes and conflicts between farmers and livestock keepers will be given top priority. The government has already taken major steps, and our task now is to identify the remaining gaps to achieve a lasting solution,” he said.

He urged leaders and residents to resolve land disputes through the law, saying fairness and adherence to established procedures are essential for lasting solutions.

Mr Nyongo said he would closely monitor efforts to reduce land conflicts so residents can continue their economic activities without disruption.
