Coach hails Yanga’s marksmanship
YOUNG Africans coach Miguel Gamondi commended his team’s marksmanship in their voluminous win over JKT Tanzania whose trainer Malale Hamsini blamed failure of their game plan for the heavy loss.
The reigning champions were on rampage after pulverising the league debutants with 5-0 blitz at Azam Complex in Dar es Salaam on Tuesday evening and maintained their 100 per cent start of title defending campaign.
The outcome was a replica of their opener against KMC which they also cherished a 5-0 win and have now scored 10 league goals in two matches without conceding.
At a post-match briefing, Gamondi said the results reflected that each player in his team is capable of scoring and hailed his charges for their massive performance.
“Realistically, we cannot be scoring five goals in each game but what these players have shown is that each of them is hungry to score because of the teamwork that they enjoy,” he said.
Moreover, Gamondi acknowledged Yanga fans for the unwavering support rendered to his team in all their matches they play urging them to continue with the gesture.
His midfielder Khalid Aucho revealed that they were told to always be focus in each game they play and press hard in the second half when the opponent team begin to get tired.
On his part, Hamsini for JKT Tanzania disclosed that his players could not stick to the game plan as a result; they failed to lock dangerous ways used by the hosting side.
“I tried to make several substitutions hoping that we could excel to paralyse ways they use but that did not happen as those who were introduced wanted to equalise without following right procedures.
“In the end, we conceded many goals and this is what football is all about…there are good things we have learnt and we are going to apply them in our next matches,” Hamsini said.
This was the first upset for the newcomers to suffer in the top flight league as they registered a 1-0 away win over Namungo in their season opener at Majaliwa Stadium in Ruangwa, Lindi.
JKT Tanzania clinched the Championship League trophy last season to earn an opportunity of parading in the unfolding contest and they look to be a competitive side despite the heavy stamped defeat.
