Clothes made from Tanzania’s cotton shine at London exhibition

TANZANIA: Clothes made from Tanzania’s cotton have caught the attention of visitors at the ongoing international clothing exhibition, Source Fashion Show, in London, UK.

Source Fashion, as described on their website (https://www.source-fashion.com/exhibit), brings together the entire fashion supply chain under one roof in one of the world’s fashion capitals – London.

The exhibition serves as an avenue for exhibitors to showcase their offerings, providing a cost-effective and convenient way to be discovered by the UK’s leading retailers who are all seeking newness.

According to Tanzania’s High Commissioner to London, Mr. Mbelwa Kairuki, two companies from Tanzania, namely RED Earth Limited and Sunglag Tanzania Limited, both from the Arusha region, are participating in the exhibition.

Through the Embassy’s official channels, Commissioner Kairuki expressed his satisfaction after visiting the booths of the mentioned companies as he commended their decision to display Tanzanian products in the UK market.

He also extended his gratitude to the UK government and the International Trade Centre (ITC) for organizing the exhibition and providing an opportunity for Tanzania’s participation, noting that it is a strategic move that will promote trade between Tanzania and the UK.

Furthermore, the Commissioner pledged to cooperate with companies interested in tapping into the London market. Tanzania is among the 65 countries benefiting from importing goods duty-free to the UK market through the Development Countries Trading Scheme.
