Children of Russian compatriots donate assorted items to orphans

KISARAWE, COAST: THE children of Russian compatriots living in Tanzania and participants of the programme dubbed “Hello Russia!” have donated various items to pupils of the Kisarawe Orphanage Centre in Kisarawe, Coast region.

The charity event was supported by the Russian House in Dar es Salaam and KSORS which involves in preserving Russian culture in Tanzania.

The beneficiaries of the donation are pupils of the Kisarawe Orphanage Centre who are under the care of the parish of the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa of the Russian Orthodox Church in Tanzania.

The delegation was joined by Acting Patriarchal Exarch of Africa, Bishop Konstantin of Zaraisk, who arrived in Tanzania on an Arch-pastoral visit.

The juniors, who took an active part in fundraising, handed over stationery, food and hygiene products to the children of the Kisarawe Orphanage Centre.

In 2024, the youth wing plans to hold several more charity events of this kind in the country.
