CEOs set to swing into Zanzibar for golf retreat

DAR ES SALAAM: THE stage is set for the 2026 CEOs Luxury Retreat Golf Tournament, with preparations in full swing ahead of the prestigious event at Sea Cliff Resort & Spa Golf Club in Zanzibar on September 26.

Sea Cliff Golf Club Captain Tazio Bercelli told the ‘Daily News’ yesterday that organisers are putting the final touches to the annual tournament, which is expected to attract chief executive officers (CEOs), diplomats, business leaders and golfers from across Africa and beyond.

The tournament will also mark the first CEO Golf Tournament under the leadership of Bercelli and Club Vice-Captain Collins Chemng’orem, who were nominated to the two leadership positions following the club’s first-ever members’ nomination in December 2025.

“We are pleased to inform all golfers around the globe that preparations for the prestigious CEO Golf Day 2026 are going well,” Bercelli said.

Bercelli said more than 42 golfers from Kenya, Uganda, Zambia, Malawi, South Africa and Nigeria had already confirmed their participation, with several golfers from Zanzibar, Dar es Salaam and Arusha also registered.

The competition is open to individual men and women golfers with eligible handicaps, providing participants with an opportunity to combine competitive golf with business networking and social interaction.

Bercelli expressed appreciation to the sponsors for their contribution and invited more companies, golfers and partners to join the event and help make the 2026 edition memorable.

“The CEO Golf Tournament provides a unique opportunity to showcase our facilities while bringing together members of the business community and the golfing fraternity for a day of competition, networking and celebration,” he said.

The entry fee for the 18-hole Stableford competition is 120 US dollars per golfer and includes driving-range practice access, halfway lunch, soft drinks and a gala dinner. He said that participants can register through the club’s official tournament contacts.
