CCM reaffirms commitment to strengthen diplomatic ties
DAR ES SALAAM: CHAMA Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) Secretary-General, Ambassador Dr Emmanuel Nchimbi, has reaffirmed the government’s commitment, under President Samia Suluhu Hassan to strengthen diplomatic relations for economic growth and community development.
He emphasised that friendship and diplomatic ties are crucial for fostering mutual collaboration between nations and enhancing partnerships on international platforms.
Dr Nchimbi made the remarks yesterday after meeting with the Brazilian Ambassador and the Indian High Commissioner to Tanzania, the head of FRELIMO’s Foreign Affairs Department and the Resident Director of the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES) in Tanzania.
During the discussions held separately at the party’s SubHeadquarters along the Lumumba Street in Dar es Salaam, Dr Nchimbi elaborated those reinforcing partnerships and strengthening international relations particularly through economic diplomacy, aligns with the implementation of the CCM election manifesto.
He noted that the efforts aim to bolster the country’s economy while facilitating experience sharing in leadership, democracy and community development.

In his meeting with the Brazilian Ambassador to Tanzania, Mr Gustavo Martins Nogueira, both leaders emphasised their commitment to strengthen diplomatic relations for mutual benefits, particularly in the health sector, agriculture and sports.
In discussions with the Indian High Commissioner, Mr Bishwadip Dey, Dr Nchimbi underscored the importance of maintaining the long-standing strategic partnership between Tanzania and India across various sectors, including technology, trade and education, recognising India’s significant progress in the areas.
Furthermore, while meeting with the FRELIMO Foreign Affairs head, Alcinda Antonio de Abreu, both parties expressed their commitment to honouring the historical friendship and brotherhood between Tanzania and Mozambique, emphasising collaboration as needed.
They acknowledged that, since the era of freedom fighting that centred in political liberation, much effort has now shifted towards economic liberation to improve the lives of their people.
Moreover, Dr Nchimbi met with Mr Christian Denzin, the Resident Director of FES, who visited him for an introductory meeting.
They agreed to continue strengthening the longstanding collaboration between CCM and FES, a Germany-based organisation.
Among the areas for cooperation, they highlighted included enhancing capabilities and experiences in leadership and democracy through various training projects.
